Mechanical Massage
Typical chiropractic adjustments in our office start with a few minutes of mechanical massage. While relaxing in a forward-leaning massage chair, the patient’s neck and back are loosened using a vibrating massage pad or a hand-held massage device. This relaxes the patient’s muscles, preparing them for the adjustment.

Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger Points are tight areas of the muscle that become painful and inflamed. These “knots” can be remedied using specific manual pressure to restore appropriate blood flow to the affected tissues.

Mechanical Range of Motion Enhancement
As joints become stiff, the range of motion suffers. A gentle active and passive range of motion stretch is applied while using a computer-guided percussion device or ProAdjuster to impact the restricted muscle fibers. The treatment device uses a specific frequency of percussions to restore balance to the muscles of the affected joint.

Extremity Adjusting
Extremities are the joints outside of the spine. These include the elbows, wrists, knees, ankles, feet, etc. Most chiropractic offices are not skilled at adjusting these areas of the body, leaving your treatment incomplete. Not at Adjustments Chiropractic and Wellness. Dr. Aivalotis was a former instructor of Extremity Adjusting and is highly skilled at assessing and treating a variety of joint problems in areas of the body outside of the spine.

Infant and Child Adjusting
Even the smallest spines can benefit from chiropractic adjustments. Whether you are looking to start your infant off right with a wellness evaluation or your toddler had a fall and needs to be evaluated, we have the experience to help your child. Children ages 0 to 18 are treated in our office, but the treatment varies greatly depending on their ages. The softest, gentlest methods are used on the youngest of our patients while more complex treatments are available as your child gets older. Start your kids off right by being well-adjusted!

Our gentle methods ensure that both mom and baby are well and safe. Treatments are comfortable and only include methods that you are comfortable with for you and your baby. Treatment frequency varies throughout your pregnancy and can help to ensure that you not only have an easier delivery but also are as comfortable as possible in the long journey through pregnancy.

Athletics is an important part of any healthy lifestyle and we support the athletics community. Dr. Aivalotis has treated professional, collegiate, and youth athletes across a wide variety of sports. While the demands of these sports are different, the injuries are very similar. Our expertise in not only the spine but also the extremities makes us the perfect option for staying healthy and safely getting back to sports as soon as possible.

Hot or Cold Therapy
Ice packs and heating pads are common to anyone who has had an injury or is just feeling the signs of getting older. Knowing which to use is essential to recovering appropriately. Every treatment is coupled with either ice or heat depending on the situation. Cold packs filled with bentonite clay or warm hydrocollator packs will enhance our chiropractic treatments.

Electrical Muscle Stimulation
Electrical Muscle Stimulation goes by many names (TENS, NMS, INF) and is a common adjunct treatment for musculoskeletal conditions. In our office, we utilize a variety of electrical muscle stimulation variations that can reduce swelling, reduce muscle spasms, cancel out pain, and help prolong the effects of your adjustment.

Active and Passive Stretching
In our office, we use a percussion device to assist in our stretching. Percussing the muscle as it is being stretched enhances the ability to achieve elongation of muscle fibers and relaxation of hypertonic tissue.
Stretching becomes comfortable. This is particularly great for athletes of all ages.

Lumbar Flexion Distraction and Cox Technique
The Cox Flexion-Distraction Technique or Lumbar Flexion Distraction is a specialized chiropractic method designed to address various spinal conditions, especially those related to disc problems and low back pain.
A specialized table that allows controlled and gentle stretching and flexion of the spine. By applying rhythmic and precise movements, we are able to relieve pressure on spinal discs, enhance spinal mobility, and alleviate discomfort.
The Cox Flexion-Distraction Technique is particularly valued for its effectiveness in managing conditions like herniated discs, sciatica, and spinal stenosis, making it a valuable tool in our office for providing non-invasive and patient-centered care.

Drop-Table Adjusting
Drop table adjusting is a chiropractic technique that involves the use of a specialized chiropractic table equipped with segments that can be selectively dropped a short distance during an adjustment. This technique is designed to provide a gentle and low-force adjustment, making it an excellent choice for individuals who may be apprehensive about manual adjustments or those who prefer a less forceful approach.
We use the drop table to target specific areas of the spine or joints, and the table’s segments drop momentarily to help facilitate the adjustment. It’s a safe and effective method for improving spinal alignment and relieving discomfort, making it a valuable tool in our office, especially for patients seeking a more comfortable and precise adjustment experience.

Don’t fall for the expensive gimmicks of big box stores and franchised businesses claiming to provide “custom” insoles.
For less than half the cost, get a real foot evaluation by an expert in biomechanics, and have our doctor create a TRUE custom-molded orthotic that will help your feet AND your back! Call and schedule an evaluation today!
